MAVCOAT® mold release coatings meet the unique challenges of today’s rotational molders, such as shorter cycles using higher temperatures to speed production and highly engineered molds with exacting tolerances. With Mavcoat, customers achieve multiple releases, no transfer, reduced pigment build-up, lower scrap rates, better cosmetics, increased productivity, and the safety of a water-based system. Read on about Mavcoat rotational mold release’s unique properties and the benefits it provides to the molder.
- ANTISTATIC CHEMISTRY
Mavcoat rotational mold release coatings contain proprietary antistatic compounds that prevent pigments from streaking, accumulating, or swirling due to static electricity buildup during the rotational molding cycle. This is particularly important when molding today’s granite finishes. Use of Mavcoat release coatings allow granite colors and patterns to come out separated and clear. And parts with heavy pigment loads such as dark browns or greens appear uniform.
- ELIMINATE TORCHING OF FINISHED PARTS
Mavcoat rotational mold release agent does not transfer because it wets the surface of the mold uniformly and has a greater affinity for the mold surface than the finished part. In most cases, this eliminates the white film transfer so finished parts have excellent cosmetics right out of the mold, which reduces or eliminates the need to torch parts.
- VERSATILE AND SAFE
Mavcoat rotational mold release products are semi-permanent water-based coatings that provide multiple releases with a single application for LLDPE, LDPE, MDPE, HDPE, XLPE, PP, and Nylon.
Mavcoat ROTO
Is the “Workhorse” product in the Mavcoat line for releasing all thermoplastic resins used in rotational molding. It is semi-permanent and has the unique ability to release linear and crosslink resins. We guarantee no pock-marking (coining) on crosslink parts when using ROTO. And most importantly, ROTO maintains product dimensions without warping the part – no matter how much is applied! Molds are also kept clean for longer productions runs. If you want a single release for all your operations, then ROTO is your candidate.

Mavcoat ROTO-4
Is similar to ROTO, but contains lubricity additives for hard to remove parts due to undercuts, scuppers, bolts, pins, or draft.
ROTO-4 is also semi-permanent and is engineered to help operators demold difficult parts, especially in intricate mold designs.
Mavcoat DCM Mold Release
Is a water-based release for all thermoplastics. It keeps molds extremely clean by resisting pigment buildup on mold walls. A
unique feature of DCM is its ability to produce a semi-glossy finish on the part without any white film. This eliminates the need to flame parts thus saving valuable labor time and reducing production costs.
Mavcoat C1-A Mold Release
Is a semi-permanent water-based mold release emulsion for release of all thermoplastics. It contains a proprietary antistatic compound that reduces and nearly eliminates the accumulation of static electricity during rotational molding, which prevents color swirling and streaking of pigments to produce uniform color and excellent part cosmetics.
Mavcoat ND
Mold Sealer is a solvent-based release coating used to seal new or just-cleaned molds. The chemistry seals mold pores and
micro-porosity on all metal surfaces. This helps prevent pigment build-up and keeps mold cleaner for longer periods of time.
Maverix Cleaner 202
A concentrated heavy duty degreaser used to clean pigment build-up from rotational molds and for general mold cleaning. It is a blend of water-soluble solvents, surfactants, water softeners, and corrosion inhibitors. 202 cuts through grease, oil, dye, and rust when applied via pressure washer, trigger sprayer, or rag. |
